Quick answer

The Pilot FriXion Point Knock is a retractable erasable gel pen with a 0.4 mm ball, sold by Yoseka in eight colors. A Japanese retailer lists it at 142 mm long and 13.1 g with a clip-slide knock. Shops now mark it discontinued, and Pilot's newer Synergy Knock covers the same fine-point job.

Notes on these facts
  • Made by Pilot Corporation (Japan). Made in Japan: Cainz's listing for the red pen gives Japan as the country of production; Pilot's own pages for this model were not readable by us. Source. Price: example listing.
  • Colors: names per Yoseka Stationery, checked October 31, 2026. Ink color names as Yoseka lists them; swatches are representative barrel and grip tints sampled from Yoseka's product photo of the eight pens. Tints are representative, not measured. Shops stock different colors.
  • How we test and disclose samples: How we test stationery.
  • Price bands are typical US retail, checked October 2026. Conversions to US dollars are approximate, at October 2026 rates (US$1 = ¥158 = ₩1,330 = NT$32.5 = CN¥6.7 = SEK 9.9 = DKK 6.7 = ₺49.6 = C$1.41 = A$1.43 = CZK 21.7; €1 = US$1.12; £1 = US$1.32; CHF 1 = US$1.21).

Key takeaways

  • Cainz lists the Point Knock at 142 mm long, 10.5 mm wide and 13.1 g, with a 0.4 mm tip and a clip-slide knock.
  • Yoseka lists eight colors: black, blue black, blue, light blue, green, orange, red and pink.
  • Cainz marks the red pen discontinued at ¥248 (about US$1.60), and Yoseka's stock codes carry a discontinued tag with every color sold out on October 31, 2026.
  • Sources disagree on the tip: Yoseka says a Juice-Up style hybrid, Cainz says a Synergy Tip.
  • FriXion ink turns colorless at 60 °C (140 °F), so Cainz and Yoseka both warn against leaving it in sun or heat.

What is the Pilot FriXion Point Knock?

It is a retractable FriXion gel pen with a 0.4 mm ball, built to write finer than the ordinary FriXion Clicker. You press the clip to extend the tip, write, and rub the rubber end over a mistake so the ink turns clear.

Yoseka describes it as a hybrid of FriXion erasable ink with a Juice-Up style body and tip, meant to feel as fine as a needle point but as smooth as a metal point. We came to it as a fine-point sibling of our FriXion Clicker guide.

Cainz lists the materials as polycarbonate for barrel and head, a brass mouthpiece, an iron-copper clip and an elastomer rubber. Its listing is for the red pen, so other colors may differ slightly.

Is the tip a Synergy Tip or a Juice-Up hybrid?

The two sources we read name it differently, and we couldn’t settle it. Yoseka calls it a hybrid with a Juice-Up body and tip. Cainz says the pen carries Pilot’s Synergy Tip, described as a smooth, very fine clip-knock pen.

Both agree on a fine 0.4 mm point. Pilot’s own page for this model wasn’t readable, so treat the tip name as unconfirmed. For what a Synergy Tip is, see our Synergy Clicker guide.

FriXion heat range: ink stays visible between about minus 10 and 60 degrees Celsius and turns colorless above 60

What colors does it come in?

Eight, per Yoseka: black, blue black, blue, light blue, green, orange, red and pink. Yoseka also sold an eight-color set. All eight were sold out on October 31, 2026, and Yoseka’s stock codes for them carry a discontinued tag.

We have no color chips for the ink, so we show names without swatches.

Is the Point Knock still made?

Probably not: Cainz marks it discontinued and Yoseka’s stock is gone. Cainz’s red page says sales have ended, and Yoseka’s stock codes are tagged discontinued. Pilot hasn’t told us otherwise.

In 2024 Pilot launched the FriXion Synergy Knock in 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm, and our best erasable pens roundup covers the current options. If you want the closest match today, the Synergy Knock 0.4 is the one to try, though we haven’t compared the two side by side.

Does heat erase it?

Yes: the ink turns colorless at 60 °C (140 °F), so a hot car or a laminator can wipe a page. Cainz warns of this, and Yoseka says not to leave the pen in direct sun or anywhere hotter than 140 °F.

Pilot’s usual guidance, which we cover in the Synergy Clicker guide, is that cooling to about −10 °C can bring the color back, and that erasable pens suit notes, not legal documents. Cainz also says not to use it for certificates or addresses.

Where is it made, and what does it cost?

In Japan, according to Cainz’s listing. Pilot’s own page wasn’t readable for us.

Cainz priced the red pen at ¥248 (about US$1.60) before it ended. Yoseka’s listing is in our $ band (under $5), and it was sold out on October 31, 2026. Because stock is thin, a used or old-stock pen is more likely than a fresh one, and the ink’s heat sensitivity makes storage conditions matter.
