Notes on these facts
Made by TaShin Precision (Taiwan). Country of manufacture not stated: TWSBI's US store and Goulet Pens' SWIPE listing don't print a country of manufacture, and TWSBI's Taiwanese site, twsbi.com.tw, refused our connection on October 22, 2026. Goldspot says the steel nib is made by JOWO in Germany. TWSBI is a Taiwanese brand, and Goldspot labels other TWSBI pens "Made in Taiwan". Source. Price: example listing. Released: TWSBI's US store lists the Smoke and Prussian Blue SWIPE from July 15, 2021; The Gentleman Stationer reported the launch on August 3, 2021 as "last week".
Colors: names per TWSBI, checked October 24, 2026. Colors as TWSBI's US store and Goulet Pens list the SWIPE; neither marks a special edition. Goulet describes the Smoke as a translucent smoke grey body with a clear grip. Tints were sampled from TWSBI's product photos, with a hand-picked value for Prussian Blue. TWSBI and Goulet don't name the color of the included cartridge. Tints are representative, not measured. Shops stock different colors.

Key takeaways
Goulet Pens measures the SWIPE at 138.1 mm (5.4 in) capped, 164.9 mm (6.5 in) posted and 15.0 g.
North American boxes hold 3 ways to fill: a cartridge, a twist converter and a spring converter, per TWSBI's US store.
Goulet gives 1.46 ml for a cartridge, 1.65 ml for a converter and 5.64 ml with the whole barrel filled as an eyedropper.
It uses the same #4 steel nib as the TWSBI ECO and GO, in EF, F, M, B and a 1.1 mm stub.
TWSBI's US store dates the Smoke and Prussian Blue SWIPE to July 15, 2021.
What is the TWSBI SWIPE?
The SWIPE is TWSBI’s first cartridge/converter fountain pen, and it ships with more ways to fill than most pens at its price. Goldspot calls it the company’s first cartridge/converter design, after the piston-filling Diamond, ECO and GO.
TWSBI’s US store lists the first colors, Smoke and Prussian Blue, from July 15, 2021. The barrel has five facets and the snap cap a Y-shaped clip, according to Goldspot.

All measurements are Goulet’s. Goldspot’s own table gives 138.5 mm capped and 165 mm posted, which agrees within half a millimeter.
What are the three ways to fill the SWIPE?
A cartridge, a twist converter or a spring-loaded converter, all in North American boxes. TWSBI’s US store says buyers elsewhere get the spring converter and a cartridge only.
As an eyedropper, the SWIPE holds almost four times a cartridge.
The spring converter fills like the TWSBI GO: press, release, repeat. The Gentleman Stationer notes that TWSBI’s converters are two to three times the size of a typical standard international one, and a spare spring holds a cartridge firmly in the barrel.
Goulet also lists the barrel as an eyedropper, at 5.64 ml. Grease the threads before you try it.
How does the SWIPE compare to the TWSBI ECO?
The TWSBI ECO is a piston filler; the SWIPE is lighter and more flexible but holds a little less in normal use.

ECO figures come from our guide to it. The Gentleman Stationer says the SWIPE feels lighter because it has no piston.
Which nib should you choose?
F for most writers; EF for small handwriting; B or the 1.1 mm stub for display writing. TWSBI’s own nib guide on its US store says that if you write small, go with an EF; for the normal writer, F is the most popular; M suits larger writing; and B is for statements.
The stub writes thick downstrokes and thin cross strokes, which TWSBI suggests for cards and invitations. Goulet says the SWIPE uses the same #4 size nib as the TWSBI ECO and GO.
Goldspot found the B nib wet, with a line of about 0.7 mm and slight feedback rather than glassy smoothness. Steel nibs from JOWO in Germany run a little wider than Japanese nibs of the same letter, as our fountain pen nib sizes explained guide shows.
Is the SWIPE worth buying?
Yes, if you want to try cartridges, converters and eyedropper filling with one pen. It sits in our $$$ band, $20–75 per pen, and includes converters that most brands sell separately.
TWSBI doesn’t say. TWSBI is the pen brand of TaShin Precision, a Taiwanese maker, and Goldspot says the steel nib comes from JOWO in Germany.
Our TWSBI history tells how a Taiwanese OEM maker built its own brand from 2009.
TWSBI’s Taiwanese site, which might give more detail in Chinese, refused our connection on October 22, 2026, so we relied on TWSBI’s US store and on US retailers.
Frequently asked questions
What comes in the box with a TWSBI SWIPE?
In North America: the pen, a spring-loaded converter, a traditional twist converter and one TWSBI cartridge, per TWSBI's US store. TWSBI says the rest of the world gets the pen, the spring converter and a cartridge.
How does the TWSBI SWIPE spring converter work?
You press the plunger down and let the spring push it back while the nib is in ink, much like the TWSBI GO. The Gentleman Stationer says TWSBI's converters are two to three times the size of a typical standard international converter.
Can the TWSBI SWIPE be used as an eyedropper?
Yes. Goulet lists eyedropper filling and measures 5.64 ml with the whole barrel filled. Seal the threads with silicone grease first.
Does the TWSBI SWIPE take standard international cartridges?
Yes, according to Goulet and TWSBI, which say its cartridges and converters use the standard international fitting.
TWSBI SWIPE or TWSBI ECO?
The ECO is a piston filler that holds about 1.76 ml and needs no converter; the SWIPE is lighter and gives you cartridges, two converters and an eyedropper option. Both use the same #4 steel nib.
Is the TWSBI SWIPE made in the USA?
No. TWSBI is a Taiwanese brand; its pages don't state where the SWIPE is made, and Goldspot says the nib is German-made by JOWO.
What colors does the TWSBI SWIPE come in?
TWSBI's US store lists Smoke, Prussian Blue, Salmon, Pear Green and Ice Blue in October 2026, all translucent with a clear section.
