What are Writech Nebula gel pens?

They are retractable 0.7 mm black-ink gel pens with a pastel colour-fade barrel and a silent click, sold as multipacks, mostly on Amazon. The Nebula is Writech’s best-selling pen. Writech’s own page lists it as the Nebula Gel Pen, W-0163, with “pure black fast dry ink”, a soft silicone grip with vertical stripes and a patented silent click.

Each barrel fades between two pastel colours and carries small star prints, which Writech calls constellation prints. The clip is transparent.

Can you refill a Writech Nebula?

Yes, per Amazon’s listing: you twist the barrel apart and swap the refill. The listing says to hold both halves, turn gently and not over-tighten, and calls the design compatible with “ordinary pen refills”.

Writech doesn’t name a refill for the Nebula. Its own 0.5 mm Gel Pen Refill is listed for the UP-GEL and Soft Grip pens only, so check the length before buying a generic refill. Our pen refills guide explains the common sizes.

Where is the Writech Nebula made?

Not stated. Writech’s product page and the Amazon US listing give no country of manufacture, and we found no packaging photo that shows one. Writech’s press release is datelined Irvine, California, but that is where the brand is based, not necessarily where the pens are made.

How much does a Writech Nebula cost?

It sits in our $ band, under $5 per pen, when bought as a pack. On October 28, 2026 the University of Utah Campus Store listed the Nebula 4-pack (0.7 mm, SKU 41000420053) at US$9.99, in stock, which is about US$2.50 a pen. Writech also lists 12- and 96-count packs of the black pen. We couldn’t read Amazon’s current price: its page blocked our automated reader on October 28, so check the live listing.

Does the Writech Nebula come in 1.0 mm?

We found no 1.0 mm Nebula. Writech’s page lists 0.7 mm black ink, and Amazon sells a 0.5 mm multicolor 8-pack and a 0.7 mm blue 4-pack. If you want a bolder line, the 0.7 mm is the widest Nebula we found; the Pilot G2 comes in 1.0 mm.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a 1.0 mm Writech Nebula pen?

We found no 1.0 mm Nebula. Writech lists 0.7 mm black ink, and Amazon also sells a 0.5 mm multicolor 8-pack and a 0.7 mm blue 4-pack.

Where can you buy Writech Nebula gel pens besides Amazon?

Writech's press release names Walmart, JetPens and over 270 US university bookstores, and on October 28, 2026 the University of Utah Campus Store listed the Nebula 4-pack as in stock. Stock at other shops varies.

Is Writech a good pen brand?

It's a popular one: its Nebula 6-pack had 3,293 Amazon ratings averaging 4.4 stars on October 24, 2026. Writech is newer than Pilot or Zebra, founded in 2020, and publishes fewer specs, such as no pen length or country of manufacture.

Where is Writech from?

Writech's 2024 press release is datelined Irvine, California, and says the company was founded in 2020 and grew from an Amazon store. Its site doesn't say where the pens are made.

What size are Writech Nebula pens?

The black and blue packs have a 0.7 mm tip, which Amazon calls medium; the multicolor 8-pack has 0.5 mm tips. Writech publishes no line width or pen length.

Are Writech gel pens good for journaling?

Writech markets the Nebula for journaling and note-taking and says the ink is fast-drying. The 0.7 mm tip gives a bolder line than the 0.38 or 0.5 mm pens many journalers prefer, so the 0.5 mm 8-pack may suit small writing better.

Do Writech Nebula pens click quietly?

Writech says they use a patented silent click mechanism, meant for libraries and other quiet places. That's a maker claim we haven't measured.

Is the Writech Nebula made in the USA?

It doesn't say. Neither Writech's product page nor the Amazon listing gives a country of manufacture, so we list it as not stated.
