What is Dominant Industry Duftrausch?

Duftrausch is the base note of Dominant Industry’s scented fountain pen ink series, in a 25 ml (0.85 fl oz) glass bottle. The maker sells three scented inks and names each for its place in a perfume: Bog Sage is the top note, Ylang Ylang the middle note and Duftrausch the base note.

Dominant Industry’s product page shows a cluster of purple roses beside a swab painted over a rose line drawing. “Duftrausch” is a German word; the maker does not explain the name on its pages.

What is a three-note scented ink series?

It borrows perfume’s top, middle and base notes: three inks meant to be read as a set. Dominant Industry lists Bog Sage first, Ylang Ylang second and Duftrausch last on its scented series page, each with a one-word label: TOP NOTE, MIDDLE NOTE and BASE NOTE.

Yoseka Stationery sells the same three under a retailer series name, “Twilight Garden”. That name is not on the maker’s pages we read, so we use the maker’s name, Scented ink.

What color is Duftrausch on paper?

On the maker’s samples it is a plum-to-mauve purple with a darker blue-grey edge where the ink pools. The swab, made with a glass muddler, is soft and watercolor-like; the loop exercise written with a Brause cito fein nib reads as dark plum, fading lighter toward the end of the line.

These are the maker’s photographs, not our test, and no glitter appears in them. How strong the scent is on the page, and whether it lingers, we cannot say from the maker’s pages.

Who is Dominant Industry Duftrausch for?

It suits people who want a purple fountain pen ink with a fragrance idea behind it, for letters and journaling.

  • Journaling and planning: Dominant Industry’s home page labels the scented series for fountain pens and sells each ink in a 25 ml bottle.

Skip it if you are sensitive to fragrance, share a desk, or want a waterproof ink: the scent and water resistance are both unstated.

How many times can you fill a pen from one bottle?

A 25 ml bottle fills a LAMY Z28 converter about 31 times. The table divides the bottle by each filler’s capacity and rounds down.

Filler Holds Fills per 25 ml
Pilot CON-40 converter 0.4 ml about 62
LAMY Z28 converter 0.8 ml about 31
TWSBI ECO piston 1.76 ml about 14

How does Duftrausch fit with the rest of the range?

It is the only one of our three Dominant Industry picks with a scent idea; the others are glitter and a plain blue. Compare Apple Blossom, a Pearl glitter ink, and Dominant Blue, a Standard ink. For what ink properties mean, see fountain pen ink properties explained.

Where is Dominant Industry Duftrausch made?

Not stated. Dominant Industry calls itself a Korean ink company, so the brand is Korean, but the maker’s page and the Yoseka listing name no factory or country of manufacture for this ink.

On November 1, 2026 Yoseka Stationery listed it at US$22.00, which puts it in our $$$ band. Prices and stock vary by shop.
