How does the Clic Eraser work?
The clip is the slider: push it toward the tip and the eraser advances a step, pull it back and the eraser retracts into the barrel. Pentel of America describes it as a pocket clip that advances and retracts the eraser “with a clic”.

Because only a little of the stick is exposed, the rest stays clean inside the barrel. When it runs out, you replace the stick, not the whole eraser.

Is there a Japanese version of the Clic Eraser?
Pentel’s Japanese site sells a different Clic Eraser line (クリックイレーザー), not the ZE21 or ZE22. It describes a thin holder-type eraser with a clip, made to carry with a mechanical pencil.
