What is the Midori Double Schedule Diary?
It is a B6 diary that holds two calendars in one book. Midori, the Japanese stationery maker behind the MD line, prints each month twice: once on red pages and once on blue. You choose which set to open by pressing a tab, which Midori calls a magic index and describes as patented.
The point is to keep two kinds of plans apart. Midori suggests work in one color and private life in the other, or a study schedule beside everyday plans, or a one-line daily journal. For a daily diary instead, see our Midori MD Diary 2027.
How does the magic index work?
Where you press the index decides which set of pages opens. Midori says pressing the lower red index opens the red pages, the upper grey index opens the blue pages, and the white tab between them opens red and blue pages alternately. Opening the red January leads to the grey January on the next page.
Each month is a ruled block with a list calendar down the left edge. Midori says the left list is for events you want in a separate frame and for rough scheduling, the ruled block keeps your handwriting aligned, and there is a memo space and a next-month calendar too. Midori’s store also advises glancing at the other color before writing a new plan so two appointments don’t collide.
What dates, pages and size does it have?
It runs 15 months from October 2026 to December 2027, in 80 pages. Midori lists an annual calendar, the two monthly sets and 16 memo pages, with rokuyo shown. It is B6 only: Midori says that since the 2024 edition there is no A5 version.
