What sizes and colors does Rollbahn come in?

DELFONICS sells the ring-bound Rollbahn memo in seven sizes, from the 53 × 66 mm Micro to the 168 × 216 mm A5, and in 12 standard colors. Its Rollbahn site groups them as ring (Mini, M, L, A5), horizontal ring (M and L) and stapled notes (A6, B6, A5, B5); the Micro is a strap-hung extra. Japanese shops sell the ring-bound memo as ロルバーン ポケット付メモ.

Every ring size uses the same cream 5 mm grid paper with a perforation on each page, a card cover and an elastic band. Our Rollbahn Pocket Memo guide covers that design and the popular L in depth.

Every current size at one scale, and the 12 standard colors by DELFONICS' names (tints are representative).

Which Rollbahn size should you buy?

The L for most people, the Mini or M for a pocket, the A5 for full-page notes, and a horizontal size for a desk. DELFONICS’ 25-year history calls the L, added in 2002, its most popular size; the first Rollbahn of 2001 was the M, sized so a standard photo print fit its pockets.

The horizontal sizes, which DELFONICS added to the memo line after first using the shape in its 2022 diary, are meant to sit in front of a laptop. DELFONICS says the horizontal M suits a 13-inch laptop and the L a 15–16-inch one. The Pen Addict measured a horizontal M at 169 × 109 mm and found the paper fountain-pen friendly.

What are the 12 standard Rollbahn colors?

Olive, Greige, Light Purple, Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Blue, Dark Blue, Rose, Light Pink, Cream and Black. DELFONICS lists these 12 for the Mini, M, L and A5, and says Greige, Light Purple and Olive joined in spring 2020.

Dark Blue and Yellow are the two colors that have run since the Rollbahn launched in 2001, per DELFONICS’ Rollbahn site. Smaller lines have their own palettes: the Micro comes in 8 colors (Cream, Yellow, Orange, Light Pink, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Turquoise and Mint) and the horizontal L in 6 (Yellow, Dark Blue, White, Light Pink, Dark Green and Black).

How do limited and collaboration designs work?

DELFONICS releases patterned, finish and collaboration covers in short seasonal runs on the same insides, and many are sold only in Japan or only in its own stores. These are the dated examples on its sites in 2026, the Rollbahn’s 25th year:

Series When What changes Sizes
Glitter July 2025; new colors July 3, 2026 Sequins sealed into the cover; 2026 colors Cream, Light Pink, Blue Mini, M, L
American Sweets Designs first on the 2024 diary; memos August 29, 2026 Vintage-ad sweets prints; Lemon Pie store-only Mini, M, L
Rollbahn 100 2026 100 archive covers, sold blind Mini
Rollbahn Extra Autumn 2026 Nine special specs, e.g. double pages, 50 pockets, top ring, water-repellent Mostly L
Campus × Rollbahn 2026 KOKUYO collaboration, three designs Micro, M, L

Glitter prices run from ¥1,100 (about US$7) for the Mini to ¥1,540 (about US$9.70) for the L, and the American Sweets L is ¥935 (about US$5.90). Standing finish lines such as Clear, Metallic and Kraft stay in the catalog longer, and DELFONICS’ own stores carry place-themed designs, such as those from its Paris Louvre store, which closed in February 2026.

The KOKUYO collaboration pairs the Rollbahn with the KOKUYO Campus notebook, marking Campus’ 50th year in 2025 and Rollbahn’s 25th in 2026. DELFONICS’ web shop doesn’t carry the Campus-branded half of that set.

Is Rollbahn a planner too?

Yes, as the separate Rollbahn Diary, which adds a Slim (98 × 166 mm) and an XL (203 × 260 mm) to the memo sizes. DELFONICS says the diary started with the 2008 edition and lists 497 designs for the 2027 edition, starting October 2026, now including a Mini.

How do Rollbahn sizes compare with paper sizes?

The Rollbahn’s names are approximate: the L is close to B6 and the A5 is slightly wider and taller than A5 paper. The rings add width, so a Rollbahn A5 at 168 × 216 mm holds a page a little under A5’s 148 × 210 mm. Our paper sizes guide lists the ISO and JIS sizes.

Where are Rollbahn notebooks made?

In Japan. DELFONICS’ Japanese shop lists Japan as the country of production for every size above, and its Rollbahn site says the last step is assembling each book by hand in a Japanese factory.

For other pocket options see our best pocket notebooks, and for notebooks that open completely flat, our lay-flat notebook guide.

Frequently asked questions

Which Rollbahn size is the most popular?

The L. DELFONICS' 25th-anniversary history calls it the most popular size today, and at a September 2026 DELFONICS workshop most attendees said they used the L.

Is there a Rollbahn in B6?

The ring-bound L, 143 × 182 mm, is the one DELFONICS calls close to B6. The stapled Rollbahn Note comes in true B6, 128 × 182 mm, with 64 pages.

What is the smallest Rollbahn?

The Micro, 53 × 66 mm with 120 pages of 5 mm grid and a strap so it can hang from a bag. It has no clear pockets.

Does the Rollbahn come in slim or XL?

Only as a diary. DELFONICS lists the Rollbahn Diary Slim at 98 × 166 mm and the XL at 203 × 260 mm; the plain memo stops at A5.

Do all Rollbahn colors come in every size?

No. The 12 standard colors are listed for Mini, M, L and A5, while the Micro has its own 8 colors and the horizontal L has 6.

Are limited-edition Rollbahns different inside?

Mostly not. The glitter, sweets and collaboration covers keep the cream 5 mm grid, the perforations and, on Mini to A5, the clear back pockets; only special-spec runs such as Rollbahn Extra change the insides.

Can I buy Rollbahn colors in the US?

Yes, through JetPens, Amazon US and design shops such as Milligram, though each shop stocks a different set of colors and sizes, and many limited designs stay in Japan.
