What is the KOKUYO Jibun Techo DIARY 2027?
The Jibun Techo DIARY 2027 is KOKUYO’s dated A5 Slim planner book, sold alone in a clear PVC cover with a pen holder. “Jibun techo” means “my own planner”, and the full system splits into three books: DIARY for the year, LIFE for records you keep for life, and IDEA for notes.
KOKUYO’s global store says the DIARY sold alone is identical to the one in the Jibun Techo First Kit. Buy the DIARY if you only want the yearly planner, or if you kept last year’s LIFE and IDEA books.

How does the 24-hour weekly page work?
Each weekly spread shows seven day columns crossed by a full 24-hour timeline, so you can plan and log your whole day, including sleep. KOKUYO pairs it with a monthly block calendar and a two-month project schedule for longer tasks.
The global store lists the reference pages too: a three-year calendar, annual schedule, budget page, “100 things to do this year”, book, movie and gift lists, a year in review and rail maps of major Japanese cities. Months, weekdays and times are printed in English; some reference pages are only in Japanese.
Is THIN PAPER good for fountain pens?
KOKUYO says THIN PAPER resists bleed-through, feathering and show-through, and stays flat when you rub out erasable ink. It is thin so the book stays light, and KOKUYO adds that fountain pen users like it for showing ink shading.
That is the maker’s claim, and we haven’t tested the 2027 book. If you mainly write with fountain pens, KOKUYO’s Biz edition uses MIO PAPER, which its store describes as slightly thicker and softer. The Hobonichi Techo Original uses an even thinner Tomoe River paper.
Which start month and size should you choose?
The A5 Slim DIARY is the January-start book that begins in November 2026; KOKUYO also makes a smaller B6 Slim “mini”.
- A5 Slim DIARY: 217 × 136 mm, the size in this guide, for desk planning.
- B6 Slim mini DIARY: 190 × 120 mm, ¥3,500 (about US$22) before tax, easier to carry.
- Refill without cover: ¥3,600 (about US$23) before tax, to drop into a cover you already own.
KOKUYO’s store says the Biz and Lite editions start in December and the one-day-per-page DAYs in January.
How does the Jibun Techo DIARY compare to the Hobonichi Cousin?
The Jibun Techo is a weekly planner built around time; the Hobonichi Cousin is a daily diary with weekly pages added.
| Jibun Techo DIARY 2027 | Hobonichi Cousin 2027 | |
