## Key takeaways

- Midori lists two sets of monthly pages for October 2026 to December 2027, colored red and blue, so work and private plans can live in one book.
- A patented "magic index" opens the red or blue set depending on where you press; a white tab between them flips between the two.
- The B6 body is 186 × 132 × 5 mm, about 127 g, 80 pages of cream MD Paper with 16 memo pages, thread-sewn with a bookmark ribbon.
- Midori says it has been sold only in B6 since the 2024 edition; there is no A5 version.
- Midori's store lists 1,650 yen (about US$10.44) with tax and Japan as the country of origin.

## What is the Midori Double Schedule Diary?

**It is a B6 diary that holds two calendars in one book.** Midori, the Japanese stationery maker behind the MD line, prints each month twice: once on red pages and once on blue. You choose which set to open by pressing a tab, which Midori calls a magic index and describes as patented.

The point is to keep two kinds of plans apart. Midori suggests work in one color and private life in the other, or a study schedule beside everyday plans, or a one-line daily journal. For a daily diary instead, see our [Midori MD Diary 2027](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/midori-md-diary-2027/).

## How does the magic index work?

**Where you press the index decides which set of pages opens.** Midori says pressing the lower red index opens the red pages, the upper grey index opens the blue pages, and the white tab between them opens red and blue pages alternately. Opening the red January leads to the grey January on the next page.

## What does a month look like?

**Each month is a ruled block with a list calendar down the left edge.** Midori says the left list is for events you want in a separate frame and for rough scheduling, the ruled block keeps your handwriting aligned, and there is a memo space and a next-month calendar too. Midori's store also advises glancing at the other color before writing a new plan so two appointments don't collide.

## What dates, pages and size does it have?

**It runs 15 months from October 2026 to December 2027, in 80 pages.** Midori lists an annual calendar, the two monthly sets and 16 memo pages, with rokuyo shown. It is B6 only: Midori says that since the 2024 edition there is no A5 version.

| | Double Schedule B6 |
|---|---|
| Body size | 186 × 132 × 5 mm (7.3 × 5.2 × 0.2 in) |
| Weight | About 127 g |
| Pages | 80, with 16 memo pages |
| Binding | Thread-sewn, with a bookmark ribbon |

## What are the paper and cover like?

**Cream MD Paper and a PVC cover.** Midori's store lists the MD Paper in cream. The cover color shown includes a muted tone with the grey and red index visible beneath it. We haven't tested the paper with fountain pens; see our [Midori MD system guide](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/midori-md-system-guide/) for what Midori says about MD Paper.

## How does it compare with other monthly diaries?

**Choose it if you juggle two kinds of plans in one month.** The [Midori Flat Diary 2027](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/midori-flat-diary-2027/) is a stiff-cover monthly book, and the [Midori Pocket Diary 2027](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/midori-pocket-diary-2027/) is smaller. Our [best planners 2027](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/best-planners-2027/) roundup compares more formats.

## Where is it made, and what does it cost?

**Midori's store lists Japan as the country of origin.** The diary costs 1,650 yen (about US$10.44) with tax at 158 yen to the dollar, which puts it in our $$ band ($5–20).
