What is the Hobonichi Clear Cover for Weeks?
It’s a clear plastic sleeve made for the Hobonichi Techo Weeks. It wraps the book’s own cover to protect it from wear over the year, and adds a pen loop, a marking flap and two card-size pockets.
The Weeks comes with its cover built in. Hobonichi also sells separate Weeks covers, but the clear sleeve is the light, low-cost add-on, and its English page calls it a very popular one.

Which Weeks books does it fit?
The regular Weeks and the Weeks MEGA. Hobonichi measured it for the Weeks books, and Yoseka says the thicker MEGA fits with a few millimeters of cover to spare at top and bottom.
The cover stands 195 mm tall, against 186 mm for a 2027 Weeks in White Line covers and 188 mm for most others, per Hobonichi’s book pages, as our Weeks guide details. That leaves a few millimeters above and below the book, which is why the MEGA, also 188 mm tall but 15 mm thick, still fits.
Hobonichi’s Japanese page lists books whose covers are PVC, leather or PU (faux leather) as unsuitable, because the materials may discolor or change in contact with the clear cover. Yoseka says such books, the Smooth series among them, have a hard time fitting, and that the Sneaker Weeks is a different size.
What are the pockets and the flap for?
Carrying a pen, cards and sticky notes with the planner. Hobonichi recommends the cover to anyone who wants to carry a pen or sticky notes with a Weeks, and the two pockets are card-sized.
The marking flap tucks over a page as a bookmark, which Hobonichi’s English page calls a sideways bookmark. Between the book and the sleeve you can also slip photos or a drawing to decorate the cover.
How much does it cost?
Very little in Japan, a little more from US importers. Hobonichi’s Japanese store lists the plain cover at ¥550 (about US$3.50) with tax, a striped version at ¥605 (about US$3.80) and printed designer versions at ¥720 (about US$4.60).

Clear cover or a separate Weeks cover?
A clear cover keeps the book’s own cover on show; a Weeks cover changes its look. Hobonichi’s store also lists separate Weeks covers, such as Liberty Fabrics designs.

Where is the clear cover made?
Hobonichi doesn’t say. Its English and Japanese pages list the size, weight and PVC material but not a country of manufacture, and Yoseka’s listing doesn’t name one either.
The cover’s corner pocket can hold a Page Keeper, Hobonichi’s elastic-band bookmark.
