Two standard leather covers in five colors, the 2026 Card Size, 45 numbered refills and accessories, a yearly diary set and a run of limited editions. Traveler’s Company (part of Designphil, Tokyo) launched the notebook in March 2006 with five refills, added the Passport size in 2009 and dropped the Midori name in 2015. Which starter kits and colors are there?

Both kits come in Black, Brown, Camel, Blue and Olive, and each box holds the cover, one blank 003 refill, a cotton bag and a spare band. The cover is cowhide, cut and sewn in Chiang Mai, Thailand; the refill is made in Japan.

Olive is the newest color: Traveler’s Company says it appeared as a 2017 limited edition and joined the standard lineup on April 13, 2023, when a Regular kit cost ¥5,280 (about US$33). Both kits fall in our $$$ band ($20–75). The spare band is red; the repair kits below add nine more band colors.

The refills also fit covers from other makers: the Galen Leather Traveler’s Notebook cover holds the same Regular refills in vegetable-tanned leather.

What is the Card Size, and how does it hold cards?

The Card Size is a 110 × 75 mm leather cover launched April 23, 2026 in a limited 20th Anniversary Set, built to be a notebook, wallet and card case in one. The set is ¥8,800 (about US$56) in Black (No. 15411006) or Brown (No. 15412006). It holds five blank MD Paper refills, a kraft folder for cards, tickets and folded notes, two connecting bands, and a cotton zipper case with a card pocket on the left and a zipped coin pocket on the right (Navy with Black, Dark Brown with Brown). Traveler’s Company says Card Size refills will be sold separately after the set ends.

The bigger covers hold cards with refills: Regular has card files 007 (PVC, 12 pockets) and 028 (paper, 60 pockets), each ¥550 (about US$3.50), and Passport uses the 004 zipper case and 010 kraft file.

Which refills are there?

Traveler’s Company lists 28 numbered Regular items and 17 Passport items: paper refills in seven rulings, diaries, plastic files and cases, binders, bands and the brass clip. A 64-page MD Paper refill is ¥330 (about US$2.10) in Regular and ¥264 (about US$1.70) in Passport; the dearest item is the ¥1,980 (about US$12.50) brass clip. The pen holder (016) comes in the five cover colors, Black 14298006, Brown 14299006, Camel 14367006, Blue 14392006 and Olive 14465006. The standard repair kit carries bands in those colors; the spare kit adds red, orange, green, mustard and blue-gray. What are the 2027 diaries and accessories?

The 2027 set is three Regular and two Passport diaries plus a clear folder, a plastic sheet and a sticker set, released September 10, 2026 in Japan and October 19, 2026 in the US and Canada. Which limited editions has Traveler’s Company released?

Since 2022 Traveler’s Company has released a spring color or city edition, a winter MOOMIN set for Japan, and in 2026 three 20th anniversary items. Dates and prices are from its announcement pages; every edition was sold for a limited period, and we don’t track what remains in stock.

What colors does the TRAVELER'S notebook come in?

Five standard colors in both sizes: Black, Brown, Camel, Blue and Olive. Traveler's Company says Olive was a 2017 limited color before it joined the lineup in April 2023; limited colors such as LOVE AND TRIP Red and TOKYO Black were sold for one season.

How many TRAVELER'S notebook refills are there?
