What is the TRAVELER’S notebook Passport Size?
It’s the small version of the TRAVELER’S notebook: a cowhide cover with an elastic down the spine that holds thin, replaceable paper refills. Traveler’s Company, a brand of Japan’s Designphil, launched the notebook in March 2006 under the Midori name and added the Passport size in 2009.
Traveler’s Company says the refills are the same size as a passport, so the cover can double as a passport case. With a zipper case or a kraft file inside, it also works as a wallet or card holder.

How does the Passport size compare to the Regular?
The Passport refill is 124 mm tall, little more than half the height of the 210 mm Regular refill, and 21 mm narrower. Both hold 64 pages per refill and both covers are 10 mm thick.

Traveler’s Company numbers the Passport refills, from 001 lined to 015 watercolor paper and beyond, with notebooks, diaries, pockets and files. The notebook refills use the same 124 × 89 mm format.

How do you add a second refill?
Loop a connecting rubber band (011) through the centre of the second refill and hook it under the cover’s own elastic. Traveler’s Company publishes a how-to for setting several refills, but no maximum number.

The Passport starter kit falls in our $$$ band ($20–75 for a cover with its starter insert). Goulet Pens’ listing for the Brown Passport kit sits in that band, a little below the Regular.
In Japan the kit went from ¥4,620 (about US$29) to ¥4,840 (about US$31) on October 1, 2025. Refills are the running cost; the 014 dot grid lists at ¥264 (about US$1.70).
Should you choose Passport or another pocket notebook?
Choose the Passport if you want a leather cover you keep for years and cheap paper refills you swap in. If you only want a pocket notebook, a bound book costs less up front.
