Notes on these facts

Country of manufacture not stated: Paper Whisper lists the Afternoon Tea Set roll as made in China, but Yoseka and bungu.store give no origin for the series, and BGM's own site (bgm.co.jp) could not be reached from our servers. Price: example listing.
Colors: names per Yoseka Stationery product photos, checked November 3, 2026. Each tint is the median color of the tape background in Yoseka's product photo and is approximate; the printed motifs and foil are multicolored and aren't reproduced here. Tints are representative, not measured. Shops stock different colors.

Key takeaways

Yoseka lists ten Life washi designs at 15 mm × 5 m, all US$4.00 on November 3, 2026, but only Flower Line, Relaxing Drinks and Pop Food were in stock.
bungu.store sells the series at ¥700 (about US$4.43) for most designs and ¥800 (about US$5.06) for the two Life Pop designs.
A roll costs about US$0.80 a metre at Yoseka (our arithmetic: US$4.00 over 5 m), and Paper Whisper's SEK 39 (about US$3.94) is almost the same.
Two Yoseka listings titled Life washi, Sleeping Forest and Dinner Party, say 20 mm, the width of BGM's clear Life tape, so we leave them out of the 15 mm count.
Paper Whisper lists Afternoon Tea Set as made in China; Yoseka and bungu.store state no origin, and BGM's own site could not be read.

For another 15 mm tape, see World Craft’s Tatemasu, whose designs run lengthwise.

What is BGM Life foil washi tape?

It is a 15 mm wide, 5 m long washi paper tape with foil stamping, in themed everyday designs. Yoseka describes the Life series as designs that blend into daily life without a fixed theme, for planners, journals, letters and craft projects.

We could not read BGM’s site (bgm.co.jp does not connect from our network), so this guide uses Yoseka, the Japanese shop bungu.store and the Swedish shop Paper Whisper.

Why do two Yoseka Life listings say 20 mm?

Sleeping Forest and Dinner Party are titled Life washi tape but list 20 mm × 5 m. That is the width of BGM’s clear Life tape, and their item codes (BM-LGCD) differ from the 15 mm washi codes (BM-LGCA). We cannot tell which is right, so we leave them out of the 15 mm count. Yoseka also titles Galaxy Train as clear tape while its text says washi at 15 mm.

How far does a 5 m roll go?

Five metres is five rows of 1 m, each only 15 mm tall. That is enough for borders on several spreads, or for cutting hundreds of 15 mm squares (our arithmetic: 5,000 mm ÷ 15 mm is about 333).

A 15 mm by 5 m washi roll laid flat as five 1 m rows to scale, with a 15 mm square outlined at the start — A 5 m roll laid out as five 1 m rows, to scale; the square is 15 × 15 mm. Original illustration made for this guide. © Stationery Times.

How is Life washi different from BGM’s other tapes?

By width and base. The Life washi is paper at 15 mm, the clear Life tape is PET film at 20 mm, and the Slim Washi Tape is paper at 5 mm for US$2.50 on Yoseka. For tape ideas in general see our guide to journaling stickers and washi tape.

What does a roll of Life washi tape cost?

US$4.00 a roll at Yoseka, in our $ band (under $5), or about US$0.80 a metre. bungu.store lists ¥700 (about US$4.43) and, for Life Pop, ¥800 (about US$5.06). Paper Whisper lists Afternoon Tea Set at SEK 39 (about US$3.94), which is about the same.

Who is the Life washi tape for?

It suits anyone who wants foil-accented tape for borders, headers and gift wrap at a low price. At about US$0.80 a metre the cost is low, and Paper Whisper says the tape is re-stickable.

It is a poor fit if you want a wider, see-through tape, in which case the clear Life tape is the better match, or if you need a design that is sold out, since seven of ten were at Yoseka.

Where is Life washi tape made?

Paper Whisper says Afternoon Tea Set is made in China. Yoseka and bungu.store give no origin, so we state none for the rest of the series.
