Notes on these facts
  • Made in China: The Journal Shop lists country of origin China for the Wisteria roll, and Tidformera says its Flower & Grass Album tape is made in China. Yoseka doesn't state an origin, and BGM's own site (bgm.co.jp) could not be reached. Source. Price: example listing. Released: This is the month Yoseka first listed Rose, Iris and Dandelion (January 2026), not a date from BGM; Wisteria followed in October 2026.
  • Colors: names per Yoseka Stationery product photos, checked November 3, 2026. Each swatch is the tape's ground color, sampled from Yoseka's product photos and approximate. The tape carries printed botanical artwork and foil that isn't reproduced here. Tints are representative, not measured. Shops stock different colors.

  • Yoseka says the botanical illustrations are inspired by grasses and flowers, in a calm nature-inspired palette with delicate foil stamping.
  • The Journal Shop sells the Wisteria roll as 'Kusakabana (Botanical Album)' at £4.99 (about US$6.59) and states washi paper with foil, made in China.
  • Tidformera sells a 20 mm × 5 m 'Flower & Grass Album' tape that it says is made in China; whether it is this series we could not confirm.
  • A 20 mm strip across the top of an A6 page takes 20 mm of its 148 mm height; one 5 m roll edges about ten A6 pages (506 mm each), our arithmetic.

What is BGM Kusahanafu washi tape?

It is a 20 mm foil-stamped washi tape with detailed botanical illustrations of grasses and flowers. Yoseka describes “elegant botanical illustrations inspired by grasses and flowers, finished with delicate foil stamping” in a calm, nature-inspired palette. The Journal Shop, which sells the Wisteria roll under the name Kusakabana (Botanical Album), describes purple blooms trailing from dark, twisting stems across a pale cream ground, with foil picking out the finer lines.

BGM is a Japanese brand; its own site could not be read, so the facts below come from retailers.

Which Kusahanafu designs are there?

Yoseka lists four: Dandelion, Iris, Rose and Wisteria, each at US$5.00. Its listing dates run from January 2026 (Rose, Iris and Dandelion) to October 2026 (Wisteria), which are listing dates, not BGM release dates.

Design Yoseka model Ground color we sampled
Dandelion BM-SDG100 Teal
Iris BM-SDG102 Pale blue-violet
Rose BM-SDG097 Pale blush gray
Wisteria BM-SDG101 Pale yellow

Colors are sampled from Yoseka’s photos and are approximate. The Journal Shop calls the Wisteria ground pale cream, so lighting changes how these read.

Is it Kusahanafu or Kusakabana?

Both spellings appear, and as far as we can tell they name one series. Yoseka writes Kusahanafu; The Journal Shop writes Kusakabana and translates it as Botanical Album. Tidformera sells a BGM tape of the same width called Flower & Grass Album, and bungu.store lists a differently named Kusahana Techo foil tape at 15 mm × 5 m; we could not confirm that either belongs to this series, so this guide covers the Yoseka and Journal Shop listings only.

How much tape do you get?

One roll is 5 m, about ten A6 page borders. An A6 page (105 × 148 mm) has a 506 mm perimeter, and 5,000 mm divided by 506 is 9.9. That is our arithmetic, before corners and waste. A 20 mm strip takes about a seventh of an A6 page’s 148 mm height, so one band across the top is a heading, not a divider. At US$5.00, Yoseka’s price is about US$1.00 per metre.

Who is the Kusahanafu tape for?

It suits people who like pressed-flower and botanical-album pages and want a wide floral strip for a margin, envelope or card. A 20 mm width covers a heading or an edge in one pass, and the foil adds a glint without hiding the print, according to The Journal Shop.

Skip it if you want a thin divider (use 5 mm tape) or a tape to write on: no shop says it is made for writing.

How does it compare with other BGM washi tapes?

It is the botanical one in a family of US$5.00 foil rolls.

Tape Width Yoseka price Theme
Kusahanafu (this guide) 20 mm US$5.00 Botanical
Pieni Stitch 20 mm US$5.00 Embroidery look
Tokimeki Flavor 15 mm or 20 mm US$5.00 Café treats
Slim Washi Tape 5 mm US$2.50 Dots, stars, patterns

Where is BGM Kusahanafu tape made?

China, according to The Journal Shop. It lists country of origin China for the Wisteria roll. Yoseka doesn’t state an origin and BGM’s own site could not be read. BGM is a Japanese brand, but that tells you where it is from, not where this tape is made.
