What is BGM Clear Tape Stained Glass?
It is a transparent PET tape, 20 mm wide and 5 m long, printed with designs in the style of stained-glass windows. Each design is built from cells divided by dark lines, and the clear film lets the surface underneath show through. bungu.store says the look changes with what is behind the tape.
BGM is a Tokyo stationery brand. We couldn’t read its own site, bgm.co.jp, so this guide uses Yoseka (US) and bungu.store (Japan) and says where they differ. Yoseka’s pages for these tapes say only the size and the material; the design and surface descriptions are bungu.store’s.

Planet and Interstellar Flight are both space-themed, but no source says Planet and Interstellar Flight are one design under two names, so we list them apart. In Yoseka’s photos the Birds and Plants strip carries birds, leaves, berries and stars inside a yellow frame; the Planet strip carries striped planets, a crescent moon, clouds and sparkles in blues and violet.
How does the tape change with the surface?
bungu.store says the colors look opaque over white and richer over dark. For the First Collection it describes the colors popping like backlit glass over white paper and taking a richer, deeper tone over dark surfaces. For the Second Edition it adds that over a transparent surface the design turns translucent and glassy.
We haven’t tested it, so we can’t say how strongly the effect shows on a printed page.
How does it compare with other BGM clear tape?

How much tape is on a roll, and what does it cost per project?
Five metres goes a long way on a page. A 20 mm strip laid across the top of an A5 page (148 mm wide) uses about 15 cm, so a 5 m roll covers about 33 such borders (our arithmetic: 5,000 ÷ 148). At Yoseka’s US$6.00 that is about 18 US cents a border; at US$4.50 about 14 cents. A frame around all four edges of an A5 page (2 × (148 + 210) = 716 mm) uses 716 mm, so ten framed pages take about 7 m of tape, more than one roll.
These are sums from the sizes the shops give, not tested yields. The pattern repeats along the tape, so a cut strip shows part of a cell, and where you cut decides which part of the picture you get.
Who is it for?
Journalers and card makers who want a bold, graphic strip that lets the page show through. Over a white page the stained-glass colors are strongest, per bungu.store.
Skip it if you want paper-like tape you can write on or tear by hand: no source says either, and PET film isn’t paper.
