What is Inos R?
It is a seal case that carries its own ink pad. Tsukineko says Inos R is a seal case with a stamp pad that holds seals up to 12 mm in diameter, with fast-drying ink that suits important documents. In Japan a seal, or hanko, signs forms, and carrying the ink saves a separate red pad.
Tsukineko describes the design as one you want to pick up, like a small gadget. Our Kodomo no Kao Techo Hanko-bu stamp guide covers a planner stamp for a related job.

How does it ink and print?
A large pad takes ink easily, and the print dries fast. Tsukineko says the larger pad makes inking easy and that the print is crisp. On plain paper it dries in about 3 seconds, so there is little risk of transfer. It lists plain, woodfree, Kent and inkjet papers, cardboard and washi.
Why is it called Inos R?
R stands for round. Tsukineko makes two shapes: S, the slim one, and R, the round one, in the same series. The protective pad keeps the seal from making noise. A similar compact idea for stamps is the Midori Paintable rotating date stamp, which carries its own pad.
What are the features?
Three, per Tsukineko. The seal comes out easily and the case stays clean; a protective pad stops the seal making noise in the case; and a large ink pad makes inking easy and suits carrying. Tsukineko says the print dries fast, so there is no worry about color transfer on plain or woodfree paper.
How does it compare with other Tsukineko office pads?
It is the portable one. The Stampnic Eco is a desk pad with a 90 × 55 mm face, while Inos R is 72 × 72 mm and carries one seal. It is not a craft pad: Tsukineko lists Inos with its red seal ink and office supplies.
Where is it made, and what does it cost?
Tsukineko’s page doesn’t give a country of manufacture. The company history lists a Yoshikawa, Saitama factory and a US subsidiary in Redmond, Washington, and says the Inos R and S seal cases were announced in 2011. At 1,380 yen (about US$8.73) before tax the case is in our $$ band ($5–20).
