What is the Raymay DETECOOL pen case?
It is a standing fabric pen case from Japan’s Raymay Fujii whose pen stand tilts toward you when opened.
Raymay’s 2020 launch release explains the idea. Upright stand cases have three problems, it says: short pens get buried, you must pull pens straight up, and there’s no gap to put a pen back. Tilting the stand about 30 degrees solves all three.

How does the tilt work?
Two zippers on the left and right run together so the case opens wide; then you pull the stand toward you and it leans about 30 degrees. Raymay says the remaining pens slide forward with the tilt, leaving space at the back to drop a used pen in.
The open lid folds down the back, where a magnet holds it out of the way. Raymay registered the design as a utility model in Japan.
How many pens does it hold?
Raymay doesn’t publish a pen count. It does describe the parts: the tilting stand for pens, an inner pocket for erasers and other small items, and a foam divider.
Its 65 × 95 mm footprint is larger than a slim upright case such as the LIHIT LAB ACTACT Stand at 60 × 60 mm, so it holds more, but Raymay leaves the number to you.

Are there other DETECOOL versions?
Yes: a smaller DETECOOL Mobile, a larger DETECOOL Combo and a clear version. Raymay lists the Mobile (FY393) at W55 × H182 × D85 mm, and announced the DETECOOL Clear Pen Case, with a transparent PVC body, for late October 2024.
Who is it for, and what are the downsides?
It suits a desk-bound writer, remote worker or student who opens the case many times a day. Raymay pitches it for telework and for studying at the living-room table, where a space-saving upright case doubles as a pen stand.
The trade-offs follow from the design. At 95 mm deep it is chunkier in a bag than a flat pouch, the stand and foam divider take some of the room inside, and with no published pen count you may find it fills sooner than a soft pouch of the same size. If you mostly carry a few pens, a flat case is lighter to haul.
Is it popular in the US?
Yes, for an import: the Amazon US listing had 660 ratings and ranked 478th in Pen, Pencil & Marker Cases when we read it on October 22, 2026. JetPens names the DETECOOL its standing-case pick in its February 2026 pencil case guide.
Where is the DETECOOL made?
Raymay Fujii doesn’t say: neither its product page nor its launch release gives a country of production. Raymay Fujii is a Japanese stationery company based in Tokyo.
Frequently asked questions
How does the DETECOOL pen case work?
Open the two linked zippers and fold the lid back, where a magnet holds it, then pull the inner pen stand toward you. It tilts about 30 degrees, so pens lean out ready to grab, per Raymay Fujii.
Why does the DETECOOL tilt?
Raymay says upright stand cases bury short pens, make you lift pens straight up and leave no gap to put them back. Tilting brings the contents into view and slides the remaining pens forward, freeing space at the back.
What size is the DETECOOL?
Raymay lists W65 × H195 × D95 mm, about 2.6 × 7.7 × 3.7 in, and 150 g. The smaller DETECOOL Mobile (FY393) is W55 × H182 × D85 mm.
How many pens fit in the DETECOOL?
Raymay doesn't publish a pen count. It has the stand section, an inner pocket for small items such as erasers, and a divider.

Is there a clear DETECOOL?
Yes. Raymay announced a DETECOOL Clear Pen Case with a transparent PVC body for late October 2024.
Where is the Raymay DETECOOL made?
Raymay doesn't say on its product page or launch release, and the Amazon US listing we read doesn't either.
