What is the Martha Brook Lovely Letter Writing Set?
It is a boxed kit for sending a letter by post. Martha Brook says it was inspired by its own Lovely Letter Exchange and packs paper, envelopes, postcards, stickers and a pen into a grey gift box.
Martha Brook is a stationery maker that ships from a West London studio and mostly sells personalised notebooks, diaries and planners. Unlike most of its range, this set isn’t personalised. We read its product page on November 2, 2026.
What is in the box?
Twenty sheets, ten envelopes, two sticker sheets, a pen and a box, with four postcards in the description. The table follows the maker’s Features list and description.
| Item | Count | Detail per Martha Brook |
|---|---|---|
| Writing paper | 20 sheets | Uncoated, natural texture, sustainably sourced |
| Envelopes | 10 | Dusky pink |
| Postcards | 4 | Named in the description only; its photos show four |
| Stickers | 2 sheets | No further detail; the photos show round sealing stickers |
| Pen | 1 | Gold or white, filled with black ink |
| Box | 1 | Grey gift box; size listed as “34 x 22 (TBC)” |
Which pen comes with it?
A gold pen or a white pen, chosen when you order, at the same price. The set’s page says the pen is filled with black ink and gives no tip size.
Martha Brook’s refill page says its refills are black ink for the gold ballpoint pen and the white and gold ballpoint pen, so both fit. The Pen Refill Pack of 2 costs £4.95 (about US$6.50).
What is the paper like?
Uncoated with a natural texture and sustainably sourced, per Martha Brook. It gives no weight, no sheet size and no ink rating, and we haven’t tested bleed or show-through.
Do the product page and its photos agree?
Mostly, with three gaps. The description counts 4 postcards that the Features list omits, and the photos show four. The Dimensions line reads “34 x 22 (TBC)” with no unit, so we drew the box in proportion rather than to scale.
The sheet and envelope sizes are not stated at all, so we can’t say how an A4 sheet folds into an envelope. For a letter pad whose size is stated, see the Midori MD Letter Pad.
Who is the Lovely Letter Writing Set for?
It suits someone who wants to give a ready-made kit for writing a letter. Martha Brook packs the 20 sheets, 10 envelopes, 2 sticker sheets and a pen into a grey gift box.
- Gift: the kit arrives boxed, so nothing needs to be gathered or wrapped separately.
Skip it if you want to write with a fountain pen: Martha Brook gives no paper weight, so test a sheet first.
What does it cost, and what about shipping?
Martha Brook listed it at £19.95 (about US$26) on November 2, 2026, in our $$$ band ($20–75). Both pen variants cost the same.
USA shipping is £9.50 (about US$13), which Martha Brook says includes current import tariffs; free UK standard delivery starts at £40 (about US$53). We didn’t confirm stock. For other gift ideas at this level see best stationery gifts under 50, and for a mini set with sticker seals see the Midori Mogumogu Letter.
Where is the Lovely Letter Writing Set made?
In the UK, per the Features list on Martha Brook’s own page. The page does not say where the pen or the stickers come from.
Martha Brook also makes a personalised refillable notepad and a personalised 2027 diary in A5.
