Which Jibun Techo should you use?
Choose by what you track. KOKUYO’s Jibun Techo is one family sharing a 24-hour vertical week, in versions for different jobs. This table shows our pick for each use:
| You are | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A professional | Biz | MIO PAPER, matte cover, wide pen holder |
| A student or general planner | Standard DIARY | The full set of pages on THIN PAPER |
| A parent or family planner | First Kit | DIARY plus LIFE and IDEA booklets |
| Starting a habit | Lite | Minimal pages and a weekly record area |
| A daily journaler | DAYs | One page per day with a 24-hour axis |
How do you use it for work?
Plan on the vertical week, track projects on the monthly pages. The Biz keeps the weekly vertical page and adds the monthly block and a monthly project page for Gantt-style planning. Its matte cover has a wide pen holder and pockets for cards.
-
Plan the week in hours. Block out meetings and work time on the 24-hour vertical week, one column per day.

Map projects on the monthly pages. In the Biz, give each project a row on the monthly project page and draw a bar across the days it runs.

How do you use it for study or family?
Pair the DIARY with the booklets. The First Kit bundles the DIARY with LIFE, for events, birthdays and the family tree, and IDEA, for memos that carry into next year. The LIFE guide and IDEA guide list their pages.
-
Add the LIFE and IDEA booklets. Set them into the cover with the DIARY; KOKUYO says they fit the First Kit, Standard and Biz, but not the Lite or DAYs.

How do you use it to track habits?
Use the Lite’s weekly area. KOKUYO’s page says the foot of the monthly page has a column for a weekly record, like a habit tracker. KOKUYO suggests stamps and markers for it; our FriXion stamp guide covers one option.
-
Stamp the weekly record. Each week, mark the box for that week in the column at the foot of the monthly page.

How do you use it for journaling?
Use the DAYs’s two halves. The 24-hour axis splits each page, so you can write schedule on one side and the life log on the other, with a strip of dates showing the day’s place in the week.
-
Split each day along the 24-hour axis. Write plans on one side of the axis and what actually happened on the other.

What do they cost?
KOKUYO’s A5 Slim list prices:
| Version | Listed price |
|---|---|
| Lite | 3,400 yen (about US$21.52) |
| Biz (cover) | 4,300 yen (about US$27.22) |
| DAYs | 5,000 yen (about US$31.65) |
By our arithmetic the DAYs costs 1,600 yen more than the Lite.
What should you check before buying?
The year, the size and the version. These are 2027 products, so they are dated books. Check that the size (A5 Slim or mini B6 Slim) matches your cover and that the version takes any booklet you plan to add. KOKUYO says the Lite and DAYs cannot take LIFE or IDEA. We have not used any of these books, so the layouts here are KOKUYO’s descriptions, not our test results.
What to know before you buy
Not every booklet fits every book. LIFE and IDEA can be set into the First Kit, Standard and Biz; the Lite and DAYs cannot take them. KOKUYO’s series page does not state where each version is made.
Our KOKUYO Jibun Techo 2027 DIARY guide covers the Standard book, the First Kit guide covers the three-book set, and Hobonichi Techo vs Jibun Techo compares the two planner families.
