# Uni Jetstream New 3-Color Pen SXE3-507: Black on Top

> The Uni Jetstream new 3-color pen (SXE3-507) from Mitsubishi Pencil brings out black with a knock on the back end and blue and red with side slides, so the ink you use most is one click away. Black has a longer-life refill. It comes in 0.5 and 0.7 mm, and Japan lists it at ¥550 (about US$3.50).

- Made in (Uni Jetstream new 3-color ballpoint pen, 0.5 mm black (SXE3-507-05)): Not stated. Neither Mitsubishi Pencil's Japanese product page nor Yoseka's listing states a country of origin for this model.

## Key takeaways

- Mitsubishi Pencil says black comes out with the back-end knock, so the most-used ink works like a one-color pen; blue and red use side slides.
- Yoseka says the black refill holds 70% more ink than before; Mitsubishi Pencil says only that it lasts longer.
- Its Japanese page lists 13 standard bodies (eight at 0.5 mm, five at 0.7 mm) and 16 limited-quantity pens, plus a limited 20th-anniversary assortment.
- SXE3-507 lists at ¥550 (about US$3.50) with tax; the limited SXE3-607ZF bodies are ¥660 (about US$4.20) and Disney editions ¥880 (about US$5.60).
- Yoseka listed the 0.5 mm at our $$ band ($5-20) on October 31, 2026; we found no weight or length on the maker's page.

## What is the Jetstream new 3-color pen?

**It is a Jetstream multi pen with a rear knock for black and two side slides for blue and red.** Mitsubishi Pencil sells it in Japan as the "new" 3-color (SXE3-507) and describes it as a pen where black is intuitive. Most people write mainly in black, so the knock makes the main ink behave like a plain click pen.

Yoseka notes that the older Jetstream multi pens advance every ink with side buttons. This version adds the top button for black.

## How do the three inks work?

**Black clicks out from the top; blue and red slide out from the side.** Mitsubishi Pencil says black uses a longer-life refill, so black lasts longer than it did before.

![Three rows linking a control to an ink: the top knock brings out black, one side slide brings out blue and the other brings out red](https://stationerytimes.com/images/uni-jetstream-new-3-color-pen-controls.svg?v=e2b9a46c)

Yoseka says the black refill holds 70% more ink. That is Yoseka's wording; we haven't seen a number on the maker's page.

## What tips, colors and refills are there?

**Two tip sizes, 0.5 and 0.7 mm, and refills coded SXR-80-05 and SXR-80-07.** The Japanese page lists eight standard 0.5 mm bodies: Black, White Light Pink, Ice Blue, Berry Pink, Greige, Mustard, Forest Blue and Blue Grey. It lists five at 0.7 mm: Navy, Dark Olive, Lemon Yellow, Black and Greige.

It also lists 16 more pens marked limited-quantity, among them SXE3-607ZF bodies and Disney editions, and a limited eight-pen 20th-anniversary assortment of Jetstream Standard and new 3-color pens. Check the page for what is in stock; limited colors come and go.

Mitsubishi Pencil says the holder and refill can be mixed to build your own pen: holders come as single, 3 or 5-color types, and refills as gel ink, oil-based ballpoint or mechanical pencil. For how refills differ, see our [pen refills guide](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/pen-refills-explained/).

## How does it compare with other multi pens?

**It is a three-ballpoint pen; the [Jetstream 4&1](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/uni-jetstream-4-and-1/) adds a pencil, and the [uni-ball Zento 3-color](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/uni-ball-zento-3-color/) uses gel ink.** For a wider look, our [best multi pens](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/best-multi-pens/) roundup compares several.

## What do the model and order codes mean?

**The product name SXE3-507-05 adds the tip size: -05 for 0.5 mm and -07 for 0.7 mm.** The page also gives an order code for each body, ending in a color code. For the 0.5 mm standard bodies, Mitsubishi Pencil's codes end in .24 for Black, W.51 for White Light Pink, .32 for Ice Blue, .35 for Berry Pink, .37 for Greige, .3 for Mustard, .39 for Forest Blue and .79 for Blue Grey.

The 0.7 mm bodies use the same numbering with a -07 name: .9 for Navy, .18 for Dark Olive, .28 for Lemon Yellow, .24 for Black and .37 for Greige. If a shop lists only the order code, you can read the tip size and color from it.

## Who is it for?

**Anyone who writes mostly in black and wants red and blue close by.** Annotating, marking up a printout and checking homework all lean on one main color with occasional accents. The knock on top means you reach black without finding a side button, which Mitsubishi Pencil presents as the point of the redesign.

If you want a pen with a pencil in it, see the 4&1 instead. If you prefer the Jetstream family's single-color pens, our [Jetstream Edge](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/uni-jetstream-edge/) and [Prime](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/uni-jetstream-prime-twist/) guides cover two.

## What can't we tell you yet?

**Length, weight, grip diameter and a real ink-volume figure.** Mitsubishi Pencil's page gives none of them, and the 70% figure is Yoseka's. We also haven't compared how the black refill behaves against the older refill, and we haven't found a country of origin.

## What does it cost, and where is it made?

**¥550 (about US$3.50) with tax in Japan for the standard bodies; Yoseka listed the 0.5 mm in our $$ band ($5-20) on October 31, 2026.** The limited SXE3-607ZF bodies are ¥660 (about US$4.20), Disney editions ¥880 (about US$5.60), and the assortment ¥2,860 (about US$18).

Neither Mitsubishi Pencil nor Yoseka states where it is made, so we leave it as not stated. The maker's page also gives no length or weight, so we haven't drawn the pen to scale.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which ink is on the top knock?

Black. Mitsubishi Pencil and Yoseka both say black is brought out with the back-end knock, while blue and red are advanced with side slides.

### What are the refill codes?

Mitsubishi Pencil's page links the SXR-80-05 (0.5 mm) and SXR-80-07 (0.7 mm) refills. We haven't checked which colors each code covers.

### How much more ink does the black refill hold?

Yoseka says 70% more. Mitsubishi Pencil's page says only that the long-life black refill lets black last longer than before.

### Can I build my own Jetstream multi pen?

Mitsubishi Pencil says you can mix holders and refills: holders come as single, 3 or 5-color types, and refills as gel ink, oil-based ballpoint or mechanical pencil.

### What is the difference between SXE3-507 and SXE3-607ZF?

The page lists SXE3-607ZF as limited-quantity bodies at ¥660 (about US$4.20) against ¥550 (about US$3.50) for SXE3-507. It doesn't say what else differs.

### Does it come in 0.38 mm?

Not on the page we read: only 0.5 and 0.7 mm are listed for this model.

### Is the new 3-color pen the same as the 4&1?

No. The 4&1 adds a mechanical pencil in one body; this has three ballpoint inks. See our 4&1 guide for that pen.
