## Key takeaways

- TRAVELER'S FACTORY's August 26, 2026 page lists color refills in Kraft Yellow, Pink, Turquoise and Black, at ¥440 (about US$2.80) in Regular and ¥330 (about US$2.10) in Passport.
- Short Trip (ST) refills have 32 pages, half the standard 64, in white, cream and kraft MD paper, from ¥178 (about US$1.10) in Passport to ¥286 (about US$1.80) in Regular.
- The Passport-size Black refill is new; Traveler's Factory says it is sold at its Nakameguro, Airport, Station and Kyoto shops and online.
- Yoseka, a US importer, lists the Regular color refills in our $$ band ($5–20) and says they were typically sold only at Factory shops in Japan and partner stores.
- Traveler's Factory suggests white-ink pens on the black paper and says a colored page changes how you approach the notebook.

## What are TRAVELER'S FACTORY original refills?

**They are refills made for Traveler's Factory's own shops, in colors and lengths the main range doesn't offer.** Traveler's Factory says that, besides the usual refills, its stores carry original ones with colorful kraft paper, black paper and refills with half the normal page count.

Our [TRAVELER'S notebook refills list](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/travelers-notebook-refills-list/) covers the main numbered range. These are extras for the [Regular](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/travelers-notebook-regular/) and [Passport](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/travelers-notebook-passport/) covers.

## What do the color refills look like?

**Three colored kraft papers and one black paper.** Traveler's Factory describes the kraft colors as faintly vintage and colorful, and lists Kraft Yellow, Kraft Pink and Kraft Turquoise, plus a black refill.

| Refill | Regular price | Passport price |
|---|---|---|
| Kraft Yellow, Pink or Turquoise | ¥440 (about US$2.80) each | ¥330 (about US$2.10) each |
| Black | ¥440 (about US$2.80) | ¥330 (about US$2.10) |

Prices are tax included on Traveler's Factory's Japanese page of August 26, 2026. The standard sizes are 210 × 110 mm and 124 × 89 mm.

## How do you use colored and black paper?

**Traveler's Factory suggests scrapbooking and drawing in ways that use the paper's color.** It shows a red mailbox drawn on pink, stamps stuck on yellow, and photos with white-ink comments on the black.

For the Passport Black it shows a drawing made with Copic Acrea paint markers (snow white, gold and silver) and the shop's mini color pencils. Yoseka similarly suggests white pens on black kraft for scrapbooks. We haven't tested any ink on these papers.

## What are Short Trip refills?

**They are 32-page refills, half the standard 64.** Traveler's Factory says it made them so a refill gets used up even on a short trip, and that they suit shared message pages or a month of one-page diaries.

| Short Trip refill | Regular price | Passport price |
|---|---|---|
| ST White or Cream, MD paper | ¥220 (about US$1.40) each | ¥178 (about US$1.10) each |
| ST Kraft | ¥286 (about US$1.80) | ¥220 (about US$1.40) |

Fewer pages also means less thickness and weight, which Traveler's Factory says helps a notebook stuffed with refills. It also suggests pairing a Short Trip refill with a small stick of glue for shop cards, stamps and receipts.

## Which should you pick, color or Short Trip?

**In our view, color refills for scrapbooks and drawing, and Short Trip refills for add-on notebooks.** The color refills change the page itself, while the Short Trip ones change only the length.

The two work in one cover, since a Regular notebook holds several refills, and you could add a Short Trip as a travel log beside a color page. Our [Regular guide](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/travelers-notebook-regular/) covers the cover they go into.

## Where can you buy them?

**Traveler's Factory says they are available at its Nakameguro, Airport, Station and Kyoto shops and its online shop, and some may be sold out.** Yoseka says the color refills were typically sold only at Factory shops in Japan and partner stores until they were put online.

Our [system guide](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/travelers-notebook-system-guide/) explains how refills, covers and add-ons fit together.

## Where are they made, and what do they cost in the US?

**The pages we read don't say where they are made.** They give prices and paper but no country of manufacture, and Yoseka's listing doesn't state it.

Yoseka Stationery, a US importer, listed the Regular-size Kraft Yellow, Pink, Turquoise and Black refills in our $$ band ($5–20) on October 30, 2026, about three times the Japanese price. We didn't find Short Trip refills or Passport colors listed there.

## Frequently asked questions

### What colors do the TRAVELER'S FACTORY color refills come in?

### How many pages is a Short Trip refill?

32, half of a standard refill's 64, per Traveler's Factory. It says the half length makes it easier to use a refill up on a short trip.

### What paper do Short Trip refills use?

White and cream MD paper plus a kraft version, per Traveler's Factory. The page doesn't say what paper the color refills use beyond colored kraft and black paper.

### Can you write on the black refill?

Yes, but Traveler's Factory shows it with an opaque white-ink pen and colored pencils, not with ordinary ink. We haven't tested pens on it.

### Are these refills only sold at Traveler's Factory shops?

Mainly. Traveler's Factory says they are in its Nakameguro, Airport, Station and Kyoto shops and online shop, while Yoseka says they were typically only at Factory shops and partners.

Yes, Traveler's Factory sells them as refills for the TRAVELER'S notebook in Regular and Passport sizes, the usual 210 × 110 mm and 124 × 89 mm formats.
