### Studio Neat Mark Two colors

- Body colors (5 standard, 0 special edition): Black (matte Cerakote sleeve); Blue (matte Cerakote sleeve); Orange (matte Cerakote sleeve); Green (matte Cerakote sleeve); Rose Gold (matte Cerakote sleeve).
- Per Studio Neat (https://www.studioneat.com/products/marktwo), checked 2026-10-31. Names are the Color options on Studio Neat's Mark Two page, each paired with the polished silver body. The page's FAQ names black, orange, blue and green Cerakote finishes, while its variant list also has Rose Gold; we follow the variant list. Tints were taken by eye from Studio Neat's product photos and are representative, not measured. Shops stock different colors; check the listing.

## Key takeaways

- Studio Neat lists the Mark Two at 88 mm (3.5 in) sleeved, 130 mm (5.1 in) posted, 11 mm wide at the widest part and 38 g (1.34 oz).
- The body and sleeve are stainless steel; the sleeve and clip are coated in matte Cerakote, and the body is polished.
- Posting works by a wedge: Studio Neat says the body's sides taper slightly, so flipping it around wedges it into the sleeve, with a magnetic closure when capped.
- It ships with a black 0.6 mm Schmidt 8126 Mini rollerball; Studio Neat's D1 Adaptor lets it take D1 refills.
- It comes with or without a clip and sits in our $$$$ band (over $75).

## What is the Studio Neat Mark Two?

**It is a steel pen that is short in a pocket and full length in the hand.** Studio Neat describes the Mark Two as a custom machined, all-metal pocket pen small enough to take with you that extends to full length when in use. There are no logos, and the black or colored Cerakote sleeve contrasts with a polished body.

It is the middle of three: the [Mark One](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/studio-neat-mark-one/) is a click pen and the [Mark Three](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/studio-neat-mark-three/) a mechanical pencil.

## How big is the Mark Two?

**88 mm sleeved, 130 mm posted, 11 mm wide at the widest part, 38 g.** Studio Neat gives one weight for the pen.

![Mark One 128 mm, Mark Two sleeved 88 mm and posted 130 mm, and Mark Three 130 mm drawn to scale at 1 mm = 5 px](https://stationerytimes.com/images/studio-neat-mark-two-family-size.svg?v=897c6e76)

*The three Studio Neat writing tools at 1 mm = 5 px, from the maker's specifications; tip cones, clip and sleeve details are drawn by eye. Original illustration made for this guide. © Stationery Times.*

At 88 mm sleeved it is 1 mm shorter than the bottom of the 89 to 114 mm range we use for pocket pens in [best pocket pens](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/best-pocket-pens/).

## How does posting work?

**A slight taper makes the body wedge into the sleeve.** Studio Neat says the body's sides look parallel but angle toward the back, so flipping the body around wedges it into the sleeve to make a full-length pen. Capped, the body slides in with a magnetic closure.

## What refills fit the Mark Two?

**A mini rollerball ships in it, and D1 refills fit with an adaptor.** Studio Neat says Schmidt makes a mini version of the P8126 rollerball identical except for length; the pen ships with the black 0.6 mm Schmidt 8126 Mini. Studio Neat sells the 3-pack in black or blue for US$18 (October 31, 2026) and a D1 Adaptor for US$12. For a folding pen that also takes D1 refills, see the [Ajoto Pocket Pen](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/ajoto-pocket-pen/); for how refill types differ see [pen refills explained](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/pen-refills-explained/).

## What does it cost, and which version should you pick?

**US$110 without a clip and US$125 with one, which is our $$$$ band (over $75).** The clip is a sprung steel part that can't be removed or adjusted, so decide before you buy. Studio Neat describes the clipless pen as having a clean, almost bullet-like look. Its banner showed free shipping on US orders over US$100 on October 31, 2026. Check the [Mark Two page](https://www.studioneat.com/products/marktwo) for current prices.

## What colors does it come in?

**Five on the variant list: Black, Blue, Orange, Green and Rose Gold.** The Cerakote sleeve is matte with a slight texture and the steel body is polished. Studio Neat's FAQ names only four colors; we follow the variant list and flag the difference.

## How does it compare with the Mark One and Mark Three?

**It is the shortest of the three when sleeved, and the heaviest.** All three share the Cerakote finish and five colors, and Studio Neat sells the family with a lifetime guarantee.

| | Mark One | Mark Two | Mark Three |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Retractable rollerball | Pocket rollerball | Mechanical pencil |
| Length | 128 mm | 88 mm sleeved, 130 mm posted | 130 mm |
| Width | 11 mm | 11 mm | 9.5 mm |
| Weight | 25 g or 48 g | 38 g | 22 g |

## What does Studio Neat not say about the Mark Two?

**Its page leaves several details open, so we haven't filled them in.** It gives no weight for the sleeved and posted states separately, no steel grade, no strength for the magnetic closure and no line width beyond the 0.6 mm tip of the shipped refill. It also gives no refill capacity. We list these gaps so a missing figure isn't read as a measured one.

## How does it compare with other pocket pens?

**It is steel, short and refillable.** The [Kaweco AL Sport](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/kaweco-al-sport/) is a lighter aluminum alternative, and the [Fisher Space Pen Bullet](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/fisher-space-pen-bullet/) is a cap-and-pressurized-ink option. The Mark Two is heavier than both at 38 g.

## Where is the Mark Two made?

**Studio Neat doesn't say.** Its page says custom machined, and the company is based in Austin, Texas, having begun in New York. We list the origin as not stated.

## Frequently asked questions

### How does the Mark Two get from pocket size to full length?

Studio Neat says the sides of the body are slightly angled toward the back, so when the body is flipped around it wedges into the sleeve, making a full-length pen. When you cap it again the body slides in with a magnetic closure.

### How long is the Mark Two?

88 mm sleeved and 130 mm posted, and 11 mm wide at the widest part, per Studio Neat. That is 1 mm under the 89 to 114 mm range we use for pocket pens.

### Can I use other refills in the Mark Two?

Yes. It ships with a Schmidt 8126 Mini rollerball, and Studio Neat says it also works with D1 refills if you add its D1 Adaptor (refill not included).

### Does the Mark Two have a clip?

There are two versions, with a clip and without. Studio Neat says the clip is neither adjustable nor removable.

### What is the Mark Two made of?

Stainless steel for the body and sleeve, plus a sprung steel clip. Studio Neat coats the sleeve and clip in matte Cerakote, a ceramic-polymer coating, and says the seam is nearly hidden by post-polishing.

### What colors does the Mark Two come in?

Black, Blue, Orange, Green and Rose Gold on Studio Neat's variant list. Its FAQ names only the first four, so check the page for Rose Gold stock.

### How do I get a repair or replacement?

Studio Neat's page says to email its support address; under its lifetime guarantee it says it will fix or replace the pen, or send parts so you can repair it yourself.
