# Pilot KeseLamé: The Erasable Glitter Gel Pen

> The Pilot KeseLamé is a limited-edition 0.7 mm knock gel pen with glitter in the ink, which Pilot says is the first erasable glitter pen. Its rear rubber turns the ink colorless by friction heat and rubs the glitter off the paper. Pilot has released three editions since 2020, at ¥253 (about US$1.60) each.

- Made in (Pilot KeseLamé erasable glitter gel pen 0.7 mm (limited editions)): Not stated. Pilot's three Japanese releases give specifications and prices but no country of manufacture.

## Key takeaways

- Pilot's releases give the pen as 146 mm long and 11.1 mm at the widest, with a 0.7 mm ball, a knock mechanism and a rear rubber made of elastomer.
- The ink fully disappears at about 65 degrees C; Pilot warns it turns silver-toned above 60 degrees C and that erased writing can return near -10 degrees C.
- Three limited editions: November 2, 2020, October 1, 2021 and November 15, 2022, each with six colors, at ¥253 (about US$1.60) a pen and ¥1,518 (about US$9.60) for six.
- Pilot's 2022 release also reissued the first two editions as 3-color sets at ¥759 (about US$4.80).
- Yoseka sold the second edition, which it labels 2022, in our $ band (under $5) on October 30, 2026, mostly sold out.

## What is the Pilot KeseLamé?

**It is a gel pen with glitter in the ink that you can erase.** Pilot says, from its own research, that it was the first erasable glitter ballpoint, and builds on the heat-erasing technology of its [FriXion pens](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/pilot-frixion-clicker/). Ordinary glitter pens can't be corrected, which is a problem on cards and letters.

Pilot sold it as a limited run for card, letter and planner decoration, and has made three editions so far.

## How does it erase glitter?

**Two ways at once: heat clears the ink color and the rubber lifts the glitter.** Pilot developed a special rubber at the rear of the pen. Rubbing makes friction heat that makes the ink colorless, and the rubber also removes the glitter from the paper like an eraser.

Pilot warns that erasing leaves crumbs and that touching the writing can transfer glitter. Yoseka says a little glitter can remain, so Pilot's and Yoseka's descriptions differ. For other options see our [best erasable pens](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/best-erasable-pens/).

## What are the specs?

**A 0.7 mm knock pen, 146 mm long.** All three of Pilot's releases give the same figures.

## What editions and colors exist?

**Three, each with six colors.** The first went on sale on November 2, 2020, with Lame Gold, Silver, Pink, Green, Blue and Violet.

The second, on October 1, 2021, was themed Twinkle Snow, with pastel Twinkle Gold, Silver, Pink, Green, Blue and Purple in white bodies. The third, on November 15, 2022, used nuance shades: Prism Gold, Brown, Coral Pink, Wine Red, Navy and Green.

## Which edition is the Yoseka one?

**The second, Twinkle Snow, though Yoseka labels it 2022.** Its six color names match Pilot's October 2021 release, and Yoseka's page says the first run was in 2021, while Pilot dates the first to November 2020.

We read that as Yoseka's mislabel, but it may refer to when the stock arrived. In 2022 Pilot also reissued the first two editions as 3-color sets at ¥759 (about US$4.80), the Aurora Star set and the Twinkle Snow set.

## Who is it for?

**People who decorate cards, letters and planners and hate crossing out.** Pilot's releases describe it for notebooks, letters, message cards and holiday cards, where a slip would otherwise ruin a glitter line.

The 0.7 mm ball suits lettering, small drawings and filling in areas. It is not a pen for everyday notes, because a pen that can be rubbed away is the wrong tool for records you need to keep.

## What should you watch out for?

**Heat, cold and permanence.** Pilot lists these cautions on every release:

- Don't use it on certificates, addresses or anything that must not vanish.
- Erasing leaves crumbs, and touching writing can transfer glitter.
- Above 60 degrees C the ink turns silver-toned.
- At about -10 degrees C, erased writing can come back.

## Where is it made, and what does it cost in the US?

**Pilot doesn't state a country.** Its releases give materials, sizes and prices but no origin.

Yoseka listed the Twinkle pens in our $ band (under $5) on October 30, 2026, with only the green in stock. In Japan, Pilot's list price was ¥253 (about US$1.60).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the KeseLamé part of the FriXion line?

It uses FriXion technology, per Pilot, but its own releases and product page name it KeseLamé, not FriXion. Yoseka lists it as FriXion Kese Lamé.

### Does it erase the glitter?

Pilot says its rear rubber removes the glitter physically, like an eraser, as well as clearing the ink color with heat. Yoseka says some glitter is left behind, so expect traces.

### Can you use it on black paper?

Pilot says the second and third editions use inks that show on dark paper as well as white, with the third using a more opaque pigment.

### What size is the ball?

0.7 mm in every edition, which Pilot calls a fine type for writing, drawing and filling in areas.

### Is it permanent once written?

No, which is the point. Pilot warns not to use it on certificates, addresses or anything that must not disappear.

### Why did my erased writing come back?

Pilot says erased marks can reappear at about -10 degrees C. It also says the ink turns silver-toned above 60 degrees C, so keep it away from heat.

### Is it still on sale?

Pilot calls every edition a limited quantity release, so stock varies. Yoseka showed only one color of the second edition in stock on October 30, 2026.
