**Open the zipper lid and press the case down on the desk; the soft silicone body telescopes so the bottom pushes your pens up into an open cup about 12 cm (4.7 in) tall.** LIHIT LAB's catalog puts it simply: press from above and it turns into a pen stand (上から押すだけでペンスタンドに早変わり).

A 2019 reviewer measured it at about 17.2 cm tall as a pouch and about 12 cm as a cup, and warns to open the lid first, or you may push a pen through the top or bottom. To pack it away, pull the bottom back out and zip the lid; LIHIT LAB gives the same instruction for its PuniLabo cases.
