## Product facts

| Product | Brand | Brand origin | Made in | Material | Released | Price range (typical US retail, October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cozyca Nishi Shuku Note Pad (10 designs) | Cozyca (by Cozyca (Hyogensha)) | Japan | Not stated | Mino washi paper | – | $$: $5–20 per notebook |

- Made in (Cozyca Nishi Shuku Note Pad (10 designs)): Not stated. Yoseka says Cozyca was started by Hyogensha and has a shop in Kyoto, but its product page lists no country of manufacture. We could not read a Cozyca or Hyogensha page.

## Key takeaways

- Each pad is 16.7 × 8 cm (6.6 × 3.1 in) and holds 20 sheets of Mino washi paper, four designs of five sheets each.
- Yoseka listed ten pad designs, Pattern, Forest, Trip, Favorite, Grassland, Star, Bread, Season, Fruit and Letter, each at US$7.00 in our $$ band ($5-20).
- On November 2, 2026 only Fruit and Letter were in stock; Yoseka's SKUs mark the other eight as discontinued.
- Yoseka's two pages disagree on the illustrator: one says she is based in Kyoto and Tottori, the other that she was born in Fukuoka and lives in Kyoto.
- Cozyca was started in 2013 by Hyogensha, founded in 1948, per Yoseka; we could not read a Cozyca or Hyogensha page to check.

## What is the Cozyca Nishi Shuku Note Pad?

**It is a tall washi memo pad carrying illustrations by the artist Nishi Shuku.** Yoseka says it is made with Mino washi paper and shows "both the routine and extraordinary" in her work; its photos show, for example, a loaf of bread on a board.

Cozyca is a stationery label that Yoseka says was started in 2013 by Hyogensha, a company founded in 1948, to bring independent artists' work to stationery. Everything here comes from Yoseka's pages, read on November 2, 2026.

## What size is it, and what is in a pad?

**A pad is 16.7 × 8 cm (6.6 × 3.1 in) and holds 20 sheets in four designs.** That is about twice as tall as wide, so it suits a short list or a phone number rather than a letter.

| Spec | Per Yoseka |
|---|---|
| Size | 6.6 × 3.1 in (16.7 × 8 cm) |
| Sheets | 20 (4 designs × 5 each) |
| Paper | Mino washi |
| Weight in gsm | Not given |
| Price | US$7.00 |

## Which designs exist, and which can you buy?

**Ten pad designs, with only two in stock on November 2, 2026.** Every design was US$7.00 in our $$ band ($5-20).

| Design | In stock at Yoseka |
|---|---|
| Fruit | Yes |
| Letter | Yes |
| Pattern, Forest, Trip, Favorite | No, SKU marked discontinued |
| Grassland, Star, Bread, Season | No, SKU marked discontinued |

Yoseka's photos show the design name and a printed illustration on the cover sheet, with the pad bound along its top edge. The page does not say if each pad's four designs differ from its cover.

## Do Yoseka's pages agree about the illustrator?

**No: one page puts her in Kyoto and Tottori, the other says she was born in Fukuoka and lives in Kyoto.** The note pad page calls her an illustrator and painter based in Kyoto and Tottori. The letter set page says she was born in Fukuoka and now lives in Kyoto.

Both can be true over time, since a person can be based in two places and born in a third. We could not read a Cozyca page to settle it.

## What is the paper like?

**Mino washi, with no weight, no ink advice and no coating claim.** Washi is Japanese paper, and Mino is a papermaking region. Yoseka's page says only that the pads are made with it.

We haven't tested it with a fountain pen or a marker, so try a pen on the last sheet first. For a pad whose paper is described, see the [Midori MD letter pad](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/midori-md-letter-pad/).

## Who is the Nishi Shuku note pad for?

**It suits someone who wants a small, illustrated pad for short notes.** The pad holds 20 sheets at 16.7 × 8 cm, so it fits a list rather than a page of writing.

Skip it if you need a pad you can count on buying again: eight of ten designs were marked discontinued at Yoseka, and the paper has no stated weight. For a plain checked memo pad see the [Kobeha Orissi check memo pad](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/kobeha-orissi-check-memo-pad/).

## What does it cost, and what else is in the series?

**Yoseka listed every design at US$7.00, in our $$ band.** Two other Nishi Shuku items were US$8.50 and sold out: a letter set with 12 sheets and 4 envelopes, and sticky notes of 40 sheets at 55 × 68 mm.

We could not open JetPens, which is on our can't-fetch list, so we know no other seller's price.

## Where is it made?

**Yoseka's pages don't say.** Yoseka mentions a Cozyca shop in Kyoto, but the product page lists no country of manufacture.
