In Yoseka's photos the strip laid out beside each roll carries the design: pebbles, four-leaf clovers with stars and a swallow, buttons on a string, birds, a shop front and café cup, shells and a starfish, a croissant and a wine bottle. Our cover colors are tints sampled from those strips. ## How do the Japanese and Swedish shops compare? **They sell the same format at similar prices and use their own spellings of the names.** bungu.store lists Life clear tape at ¥1,000 (about US$6.33) in two listings: one with Colorful Buttons, Pebble, Sweet Time, Lucky Charms and Little Days, and one with Melody, Ocean and Flower Vase. Flower Vase isn't on Yoseka's list. For pages, Yoseka suggests planners, journals, letters and craft projects. Paper Whisper adds that you can use the tape as a continuous strip or cut the individual motifs into small pieces to use like stickers. We haven't tested how cleanly it lifts, whether foil rubs off or how it takes a pen, and none of the three shops says. Test a scrap before putting it over writing you want to keep. ## How is clear tape different from washi tape? **Clear tape is a transparent plastic film; washi tape is paper.** With washi, the paper itself is part of the look, and with BGM clear tape the page shows through, so the design appears to sit directly on it.
